Design-load matrix: two code paths, one project

The table shows how the same house question is written under two common references. It is not a statement that both paths have been accepted for your site. The engineer of record selects the path after the authority is known.

Wind	Basic wind speed in m/s or mph, exposure category. Confirm the source map and exposure category. Ask the engineer to check any quoted pressure against the project design basis. What this table is not	Not a permit. Not a claim that every Lindal Cedar Homes house is an IBC building.	Not an EN 1090 stamp. Eurocode 3 is not assumed to be the governing steel code.

Steel, panel and fire scope

Members and connections

Residential floors that clear a living room in the 6 m to 9 m range may leave light-gauge joists and step up to Q355 or S355 beams. That is not the 18 m to 60 m clear span of an industrial portal frame, and the house file does not borrow warehouse deflections. Purlins and girts appear on roof and wall lines when the cladding span needs them. A welded frame holds geometry in the plant and costs container cube. A bolted frame ships flatter and makes the site torque record part of the quality file.

Galvanized coating mass is stated in g/m². Z275 is common on cold-formed steel studs. Painted carbon steel is used when a heavier member needs a specified color. Both systems fail at an unrepaired cut or weld. The limitation is written on the coating page of the dossier.

Panels and thermal bridges

For quoted wall panels at 50 mm, 75 mm or 100 mm, record core type and declared conductivity. Compare calculated wall U-values in W/m²K using the same treatment of studs, tracks and penetrations. Studs, base tracks and balcony fixings are thermal bridges. They are itemized so a panel U-value is not presented as the wall U-value. EN 14509 can be the reference for a self-supporting double-skin panel when the project is in a market that uses it. Holding that standard on a panel purchase is not the same as a system fire test.

Fire strategy limits

Three limits are fixed in the template. First, no house is described as fireproof or earthquake proof. Second, a 60-minute figure is used only when an assembly, including joints and the openings in that test, is identified. Third, an exterior PIR or EPS wall can remain in the energy line while a party wall or corridor changes to rock wool. A supplier proposal must show which assembly is used at each exposure. A single sandwich-panel sales grade does not cross that split.

Intumescent coating, if a steel member is exposed and the fire strategy needs it, is a separate specification with a dry-film thickness. It is not implied by ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001. If offered by a supplier, those certificates govern management systems only and must be checked for holder, scope and validity.
